Before you sign up to work with me, you might want to know a little more about my qualifications and experience.
I have a background in Health Education and Promotion (MA, University of Brighton 1996) and worked for seventeen years at Penny Brohn UK leading and managing teams of complementary therapists of all kinds. My role involved coordinating a holistic health care programme for people with cancer, and designing and leading retreats and workshops to support spiritual, mental and physical health for people living with life threatening illness and at the end of life.
I started practising Tai Chi with Master Alan Peck in 1983 and have studied Tai Chi and Qigong ever since with teachers including Master Shen Hongxun, Zhixing Wang, Dominic Hill and Nicola Ley. I have been teaching Qigong for more than twenty years in many different contexts.
I am Interfaith Minister, ordained in 2014. Ministry for me is about being in right relationship with Life, following the call of the heart and learning to express our deepest nature freely in the world. Ministry has led me into teaching and I tutor for the One Spirit Interfaith Foundation, on their Ministry Training teaching Spiritual Accompaniment and Celebrancy skills and facilitating groups and individuals to explore their relationship with the divine, however they understand it. I trained as a Supervisor with CSTD in 2021 and am a member of the Interdependent Supervisors Network.
The spiritual imperative of our time, is for us to wake up to our unity with the sacred earth. As part of my ministry, I am committed to Sacred Activism, which includes supporting activists with non violence training, leading resilience and regeneration retreats, both leading and participating in decolonisation and anti-racism programmes, taking part in climate pilgrimage and getting out on the streets standing up for climate justice, democracy, peace and freedom.
Sarah MacDonald has been praised for her exceptional, personable guidance and meditative approach. Her refreshing balance of gravitas and light-heartedness garnered praises – as Mel exclaimed, “I loved it, loved her! She has such a gentle manner, with a wonderful twinkle in her eye, so you know she’s serious, but also doesn’t take herself too seriously!“
