Fundamental Qigong

NEW Workshop Series for 2025

Explore the fundamentals of qigong practice. In this new series of four morning workshops you will:

  • Experience Qi for yourself, in your body
  • Learn to connect with your Qi in daily life, anytime you wish
  • Understand how to use Qigong practice for health and healing, for yourself and your loved ones
  • Understand the flow of Qi within Qigong and Tai Chi forms to supercharge your practice
  • Use Qi sensing to connect deeply with yourself, with the world and with Life

We will meet at the The Cotswold Community Centre, for four, three hour workshops over the year.

Dates May 31st (Sat) Sept 27 (Sat) Oct 26th (Sun) Nov 22nd (Sat)

All workshops are from 10am to 1pm at a cost of £35 each

Everyone is welcome. Beginners will quickly understand and benefit from the fundamentals of Qigong and take away the basis of a profound on going practice. Experienced practitioners will deepen their understanding; clarifying Qi perception, empowering health and strengthening connections, including working with Qi fields.

These workshops are suitable as CPD for Qigong Teachers.

The The Cotswold Community Centre is on Dursley Road, Shirehampton, Bristol BS11 9XH. There is easy access from the centre and from the M5, with plenty of free parking and good public transport links by train (from Temple Meads via Stapleton Rd, Montpelier, Redland, Clifton Down and Sea Mills) or by the Park and Ride bus along the Portway. Do be in touch if transport is an issue for you. Choosing a less central venue means these workshops are more affordable. However, if cost is an issue for you, again please be in touch.

Sacred Activism with the Coat of Hopes

The Coat of Hopes is a patchwork coat on an ongoing walking pilgrimage through the UK towards the end of the climate and ecological emergency.

It has been made by and worn and walked by many hundreds of people on a journey on foot of around 1500 miles so far. It carries people’s hopes for the places they live, sewn into the blanket patches of which it is made.

All who encounter it are invited to wear it and (whilst the Coat song is sung) take a moment to be conscious of themselves at this time, standing in connection with all those who have made or worn the Coat before them and with the life and land it has witnessed on its way.

Join me for my next walk from Southend to Canterbury, June 7th – 10th. Or check out the Coat of Hopes website for other walks.

Everyone is welcome

Nicola Ley, Sarah MacDonald and Helen Lawrence are excited to be offering a
programme of Qigong and creativity based on nature. Our practice comes from a variety of traditions and requires no previous experience, only a willingness to explore.

Each day we will explore one of the three treasures: Jing – our physical body;
Qi – our life force; and Shen – our spirit. We will use Qigong forms, meditation,
creativity, nature connection practices and ceremony to enhance the three treasures.
We invite you to play with energy as it presents in nature.
Qigong practice supports our health at all levels and awakens our joy in life.

The cost: £210 for the camping, teaching, workshops and art materials.
For more information or to book Email: sarahmacdonald43@gmail.com

The camp is situated in the ancient woodland around May Hill, Forest of Dean. The site
includes hot showers, compost toilets, and a secluded space for camper vans. There is no electricity on site. We have exclusive use of a large barn, with kitchen space including a gas cooker, running water and a wood burning stove with a sofa and chairs.

Bring a tent or a camper van and cooking equipment plus plenty of warm things. Check
the May Hill website for glamping options, some folks have even booked a BnB near-by. http://www.mayhillwoodlands.com

There will be a welcoming vegetable stew on the Thursday night. Otherwise, we are not
providing meals. We suggest people cook in small circles. Bring what nourishes you.
In the evenings, we invite you to sit around the fire. Bring a poem, a song, musical
instrument or a dream to share!

Non-violent direct action is back in the news as people across the world struggle to protect Life as the climate crisis unfolds. What does it mean to be non violent? How can we stand in our power without violence? What skills and knowledge do

I will be leading an Online workshop (via zoom) exploring these themes, in the context of non violence as spiritual practice and of non violence movements in the modern world. the course is offered through One Spirit Interfaith Foundation https://www.interfaithfoundation.org/
